Jockey Club Community Care and STEM in Action Project @ Learning and Teaching Expo 2022

Over the past three years, The Jockey Club Community Care and STEM in Action Project, funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, has produced fruitful results. Six secondary schools, including Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing Secondary School, Christian and Missionary Alliance Sun Kei Secondary School, PHC Wing Kwong College, Buddhist Wong Wan Tin College, Carmel Holy Word Secondary School, and Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School, have successfully developed 21 technological products designed for disadvantaged groups. The project was aided by student mentors from CUHK’s Faculty of Engineering, social service organisations, and entrepreneurs. The project results and products were showcased at the Learning and Teaching Expo 2022 held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 7-9 December 2022. Moreover, the project team and students from the participating schools participated in the InnoSTEMer Seminar and Showcase, where teaching professionals and the public learned about the students’ learning process during the project.
