Launch of Jockey Club Community Care and STEM in Action Project

Funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and spearheaded by Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Jockey Club Community Care and STEM in Action Project was launched in January 2020. Pioneering this project in the first cohort is Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing Secondary School. This project aims at increasing the opportunities for students and schools to apply the latest STEM knowledge and skills to the community, instilling a sense of social responsibility in students via a quadripartite professional partnership between the University, schools, social service organisations and enterprises, and inspiring the participating students to continue innovating new products for the community in future. Piloted in six secondary schools, this three-year project will witness the birth of 300 product ideas, 100 prototypes and 20 products.
